Alternative Spring Break Application

Words Beats & Life’s Alternative Spring Break aims to inspire Academy Apprentices with a curated tour of six major creative hubs along the East Coast. Students will have the opportunity to visit colleges/universities, cultural institutions, and other aspects of the creative economies in Alexandria, Richmond, DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York City. The participation fee ($20) covers the cost of travel and admission to certain sites. There will be opportunities for students to purchase lunch on their own.

Alternative Spring Break Application

  • ex. "Spoken Word at St. Stephen's", "Beat Production at Ron Brown", etc...
    Fill-in each date you are interested in attending. The van typically meets at 8 AM. Students are expected to be picked up by 8 PM at St. Stephen's Church. Lunch is not provided but time

  • Tour of DuPont Underground

WEDNESDAY (4/19) Philadelphia, PA:

  • College Tour – Temple University
  • Lunch @ Reading Terminal Market
  • Fabric Workshop and Museum

THURSDAY (4/20) Arlington, VA
