Words Beas & Life has a yearlong series of jams that act as vehicles to assist individual dancers develop their craft, build community, make peace, and showcase their talent in an environment that is both competitive and supportive. As a series of events they allow different aspects of the community to each have their own moment to cypher. The jams create equal playing fields for youth, women, crews, and individuals for more recognition within the community. There is literally something for everyone. By being able to promote the series of jams, each one builds the momentum for the next.
We have hosted these jams for the past 7 years: The St Stephens Church, Atlas Performing Arts Center, the Kennedy Center, and The Riverside Center outdoor stage in Marvin Gaye Park.
