DJ Lady X

DJ Lady X is a Belizean disc jockey known as the first female DJ in her native country, and an international sensation rocking venues across the United States. Equally at home in Belize, the wider Caribbean and the United States, Lady X makes waists wine, heads nod, and fists pump to the sounds of Dancehall, Reggae, Soca, Punta, Hip-Hop, Pop, EDM, and more.

Background: Lady X burst onto Belize City’s music scene in 2005, taking the country by storm. She had been surrounded by music growing up, absorbing the tricks of the trade from her father, popular 1980s and 90s DJ, Stone Jam, founder of Stone’s Muzik Outlet and Stone Jam Sound. Naturally, nothing less than greatness was expected from Lady X, and she delivered, never intimidated by the fact that she was a minority in a male-dominated industry. From the beginning, Lady X was respected as not only a female DJ, but someone whose talent was on par with the best men in the industry. She has djed at all the major radio stations in Belize, including More FM, Krem FM, Positive Vibez, and Wave Radio. In 2008, Lady X relocated from Belize City to Los Angeles, where she was introduced to a new style of djing and different aspects of the music business. She quickly adapted to the new experiences, and soon made a name for herself on the west coast. Lady X has also made appearances in New York City, playing alongside friend and mentor DJ Rampage, known for being Lauryn Hill’s DJ. Lady X continues to delight audiences in cities across the United States, including Las Vegas, Chicago, and Los Angeles, and occasionally returns to her home, Belize City, for special events.
