Afshin

Djoon club founder Afshin began his career in the Parisian house scene by throwing acid house nights with Laurent Garnier, inviting legends such as Joey Negro and Norman Jay to host the 'Sweet House party’ in the 90s. In 2003 he founded the legendary Djoon Club which quickly became the reference point for house culture in Paris, and a European hot spot for house dancers from Chicago to Johannesburg.

My Grooves, his monthly residency at Djoon where he distills a smooth mix of disco, funk, afro and & house sets - sometimes joined by house legends such as Osunlade, Terrence Parker, Jamie 3:26, Ge-Ology, Sadar Bahar as well as up & coming artists. Outside of Djoon he’s recently been behind the decks of some of the worlds best venues including Concrete, Watergate, Rex Club & more, festivals such as The Djoon Experience Festival, Suncebeat, Liverpool Disco Festival, Southern Soul Festival, as well as a couple of solo tours in Kenya, Colombia & South Africa.

On the production side, besides a trove of greatly received “My Grooves Edits”, from Jimmy Ruffin to Cesaria Evora, He’s been busy in the studio putting out tunes on labels such as GAMM, The Djoon Experience or Moblack. A perfect illustration of Afshin's world - strong house and disco vibes coloured by worldwide influences with a contemporary sound and groove.
